The Horsemen’s Bookkeeper’s Office at Gulfstream Park has been relocated to a new trailer next to the Racing Office building. To find the new office, just park to the right of the Racing Office Building, and go through the opening in the fence. The Horsemen’s entrance is at the far end of the new trailer. New signage will be installed shortly.
Gulfstream Park has two Horsemen’s Bookkeepers, Esmirna (Mimi) Salazar (left), who came on board in March, and Elsi Valdivia (right), who started in June. Salazar is originally from Canada, where she worked as an assistant comptroller. Valdivia was with the New Jersey Racing Commission before moving to South Florida, and has been with the Casino for the last 13 years.“We just moved into the new office yesterday, and we want to be sure everyone can find us,” Salazar said.
The Horsemen’s Bookkeeper’s Office currently is open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesdays, and from 9:30 a.m. until the last race Thursdays through Sundays.
